A chill is in the air as arctic air moves in this weekend

Temperatures remain cold with gusty winds sticking around, but a big Winter cold front moves in this weekend.

ROANOKE, Va. – We are tracking some really cold air for the next several days with a few Winter fronts moving into the region.

Keeping Cold

If you are planning on being outside this morning, bundle up! It is going to be in the 30s with winds gusting between 20-30mph making it feel even colder.

Today's Highs

Today’s high temperatures get into the upper 30s and mid-40s but the real feel will remain in the 20s and 30s.

Gusting

This is all thanks to the gusty winds that stick around for the entire day. Sustained winds will be near 15-20mph. Then, once the sun sets, winds gradually calm.

Tomorrow Morning

A clipping system enters the mid-Atlantic tomorrow morning and will bring some winter precipitation to the mountains around sunrise. Some flurries will be able to push further east thanks to the gusty northwesterly wind.

Next Front

As we head into the weekend, skies will be clear, air will be cold, and winds will be gusty. Our next front also builds across the Country picking up steam as it heads toward the region.

Later This Weekend

By Sunday night, the front is knocking on our front door. A cold rain, wintry mix, and snow will all be possible as we close out the weekend. These conditions will continue into Monday.

Your Local Weather Authority is keeping a close eye on this system as snow totals could add up for some.
