An unsettled pattern could bring some strong storms.

Smoky skies give way to a stormy saturday!

Portions of the viewing area now highlighted in grey below are included in an Air Quality Watch until 9PM Friday night. This is due to the wildfire smoke in the region which will bring our air quality to a level that is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Yet another day of smoke filled skies! We are still seeing mild temperatures this morning as a result of the smoke and haze acting like an atmospheric blanket overnight and keeping us from radiational cooling.

This morning has just been delightful. Our temperatures are seasonable, but what really has made it feel so incredible is the low dewpoints. The abundant dry air makes it feel much cooler than the actual air temperature this morning. Otherwise, when you look outside you may notice a bit of a haze in the region. That is all due to Northern Midwest and Canadian wildfire smoke being lofted into our atmosphere by the Jetstream.
