ROANOKE, Va. – Here is a look at what Your Local Weather Authority is tracking over the next couple of days. We break down all you need to know for the week ahead.
The overall setup for the day continues to bring moisture in from the south and west. The upper-level system track stays nearby for a few days as well.
Here is a look at futurecast for later Monday morning. Isolated showers are possible through lunch hour, and then skies begin to turn partly cloudy.
The afternoon shapes up to be fairly nice. Warmer temperatures begin to build in with an increase in relative humidity thanks to Monday morning’s rain.
High temperatures get up to 60 degrees across the Roanoke Valley and a tad warmer along parts of Southside and Lynchburg. Areas along the mountains stay in the mid-50s or so.
Monday morning’s rain was certainly much needed as abnormally dry and moderate drought conditions were starting to build in across the region.
This pattern sticks around through the middle of the week. More rain showers move in for Tuesday and Wednesday before colder air returns for the back half of the week.
After the cold air briefly moves in for a couple of days, the pattern flips once more. Warmer-than-average temperatures are expected this time next week.
