The Lynchburg Police Department announced Tuesday that after an investigation regarding a possible occurrence of embezzlement involving a city employee, they brought charges against a Lynchburg Fire Dept. employee.

Former Buena Vista Police Chief Richard Hartman was sentenced after facing an embezzlement charge in December 2022.

The former president of Franklin County Baseball, Inc. and his wife were arrested Wednesday on indictments for embezzling funds, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
