The building itself has been open since 1964 and is getting upgrades to its security systems. These includes new cameras, new doors and new badge readers. Classrooms will be getting a facelift while the old gymnasium is being renovated into a cafeteria.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. Some people in central Virginia were still without power Tuesday evening after severe storms overnight. While there were claims on social media that a tornado moved through the area, Your Local Weather Authority confirms that it wasnt a tornado, but rather, severe storms bringing heavy rain and strong winds. A 10 News crew saw trees snapped and uprooted, and one that fell on someones home and destroyed their office. Roads were still blocked off Tuesday afternoon because of downed power lines and some traffic signals were out. We could have had ambulances out here instead of nice folks with chainsaws, said Joseph Cochran, who was cleaning up storm damage on Tuesday.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – A local high school graduate is getting special recognition from U.S. Senator Tim Kaine. “Roughly 12 years ago this time we were finishing up Kindergarten,” Maggie Mace said in her three minute graduation video. ROANOKE, Va. Jordan Dail was a two-time VHSL pitcher of the year who racked up over 1,000 strikeouts during her time at Brookville High School. Her college journey started at Virginia Tech, where she spent her freshman campaign. Dail had a great season but decided to transfer. Dail started six games before the 2020 season was cut short, going 5-1 with 47 strikeouts. I want to be remembered as a great teammate and remembered as that kid who was gritty and always fought through things, Dail said.
