Baker earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Virginia Military Institute in 1995. Over his 29-year career, he has served as head football coach at several schools, including Nelson County, Parry McCluer, Rustburg and Alleghany high schools, consistently leading teams to winning seasons and Virginia High School League playoff appearances.
