Man arrested in Danville following Martinsville GameStop robbery

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A man was arrested following a Martinsville GameStop robbery on Friday, Henry County Sheriff’s Office said.

HCSO said deputies responded to reports of a robbery at the Martinsville Gamestop around 6:40 p.m. on Friday. After investigation, they identified 39-year-old Richard Rotunda as the suspect, and discovered he had likely traveled to Danville.

Authorities said they contacted the Danville Police Department regarding Rotunda’s whereabouts, and he was quickly arrested outside of Caesars Virginia by local law enforcement. He was taken into custody without incident. An unspecified amount of cash was found on his person, as well as a handgun that is believed to have been used during the robbery.

Rotunda was charged with one count of robbery. He is currently being held at the Danville City Jail with no bond and is awaiting extradition to Henry County.
