ROANOKE, Va. – New developments could be coming to the Amtrak Station in downtown Roanoke.
The city was recently awarded $770,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation and have announced plans to evaluate city-owned properties within a half-mile radius of the Amtrak Station.
So some of the money will be used to better use underutilized properties," Marc Nielson, Director of Economic Development for the City of Roanoke, said.
He says the city of Roanoke will put out a request proposal for a consultant to look at the property and ask for the community’s input on what they want to see in the area.
