Area families will soon be recipients of Holiday Food Boxes courtesy of Feeding Southwest Virginia staff.
Free items such as canned ham, mixed vegetables and pancake mix can be found in some of the boxes being distributed during the initiative. Staff will soon be in Christiansburg Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and in Bristol from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“We are doing this with our agency partners school patry and backpacks in order to ensure the families of the children that our agency partners serve have holiday food staple items ready for the upcoming holidays,” Murphy Laime, Children’s Program Representative from Feeding SWVA, said.
This is the third of six events so far.
