Travel rates are expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels this year with more people than ever hitting the road for the holiday season.
AAA is predicting over 119 million Americans will travel between Dec. 21 and Jan. 1.
“So very close, but slightly above where we were in 2019,” said Morgan Dean, a spokesperson for AAA. “When we take a look at things and the big discussion that’s happened since the pandemic, have we come back from the pandemic on travel? Yes. Have we surpassed where we were? Yes, in some cases we sure have.”
AAA recommends travelers make extra time when planning their holiday trips.
