The North American Aerospace Defense Command, also known as NORAD is launching its Santa Tracker.
The military will once again be defending the skies and making sure his sleigh has a clear path leaving the North Pole.
On Christmas Eve, children can monitor his location on their website, social media channels and mobile app. Hundreds of volunteers will also be working to answer phone calls with real-time updates on Santa’s delivery schedule.
“It’s just a really beautiful sense of comradery, community, Christmas spirit, cooperation, sorta goodwill, very positive vibes all across the board its just so nice to be a part of it, just such a nice thing to bring people together, whatever your background, wherever you are in the world you can participate which is pretty amazing,” Maj. Jennie Derenzis, Chief of NORAD Media Opertions said.
NORAD’s holiday tradition began in 1955 after a kid mistakenly called a Colorado Military Command asking to speak to santa.
