Appalachian Power Company is still working to restore power to customers in our region. They hope to have power restored by the end of the day Thursday.

UPDATE - Sept. 30 at 9:30 p.m.
Appalachian Power Crews said Monday that they had restored power to 25,000 customers across Southern Virginia, Southern West Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. As of 9:30 more than 70,000 are without power in our region.
According to Appalachian Power Company around 73,400 of the remaining affected customers are in Virginia.
AEP hopes to have power restored to those affected by outages by end of day Tuesday.

If you’re in the dark, you’re not alone! More than 80,000 people are without power across the Commonwealth due to the impacts of Helene.
Appalachian Power said more than 4,000 employees and contractors are working to restore power, as well as additional crews from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. However, they said that restoration work is expected to go into Sunday, and possibly beyond then. The lesser-impacted areas will likely get their power restored sooner rather than later.
