One man dead after multi-vehicle crash in Roanoke County

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Update:

A 27-year-old man is dead after a multi-vehicle crash in Roanoke County Monday, we’re told.

A 1999 Honda Accord was being driven by 27-year-old Alex Tuck eastbound on Challenger Avenue.

Just before 3:00 p.m., the Honda rear-ended a 2020 Ford Edge which was then pushed into a 2002 Buick and a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, according to the ROCO Police Department.

We’re told the occupants of the Ford and Buick were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

Tuck was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead. 10 News has learned that speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role.

We’ve learned that weather was not a factor in the crash.

A multi-vehicle crash in Roanoke County may result in some delays today.

A crash occurred in the 4500 block of Challenger Ave. Eastbound traffic on route 460 is down to a single lane.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
