BLACKSBURG, Va. – A new distillery has opened up in downtown Blacksburg, but they are no stranger to the folks in the New River Valley.
Established in 2020, J.H. Bards was first in Pulaski County before moving to Blacksburg at the beginning of June.

Specializing mostly in whiskey, the tasting room offers cocktails for people to try, and an atmosphere for people to relax and hang out.
One of the owners told us they grew up in Blacksburg and always planned to bring the business back home.
“It took us a little longer than anticipated but we were just looking for that right location,” said Jayson Hudson, co-founder and director of operations. “We found this and it has just been a great spot so far.”
They said they are thrilled to see many new faces in downtown Blacksburg.
