A Montvale elementary school that has sat empty since the late 1990s could soon become a neighborhood gathering place — if a local nonprofit can raise the millions needed to make it happen.

Hundreds of bikers are set to make a stop at Montvale Elementary School Thursday morning as part of a decades-long tradition referred to as “Run for the Wall.”

Bikers from Run for the Wall are gearing up for a decades-long tradition of visiting students at Montvale Elementary School later today.

Students at select schools in Bedford County will be getting free meals this school year thanks to the federal Community Eligibility Provision meal program.
