Former Virginia Tech Rector John Rocovich is taking legal action against Gov. Abigail Spanberger following her attempt to remove him from the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors in late May.

The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors announced that it had met on Tuesday and discussed a wide variety of topics, including electing a new Rector and Vice Rector.

Virginia Tech has canceled its football game against James Madison scheduled for September because of the Atlantic Coast Conference's move from eight to nine conference games beginning in 2026.
