LYNCHBURG, Va. – It was a beautiful day to kick off In Your Town in the Hill City.
An annual event is returning to Downtown Lynchburg this Labor Day weekend – the Lynchburg PrideFest will be held at the Riverfront Park on Saturday afternoon.
There will be about 60 vendors, food trucks, a variety of performers, and live music at the event, and they’ll also be selling t-shirts.
Organizers said it’s not only a gathering for the LGBTQIA community – it’s for everyone.
“Our values of inclusion and diversity are so important, and just seeing how the community has asked for this event, has rallied behind the event ... it’s really heartwarming. It’s all about the love,” Amy Morris with Hill City Pride said.
“Lynchburg is a place that has an inclusive community and that all folks are welcome and can be seen ... can be heard. Hate’s not home here,” Kelli Coleman, also with Hill City Pride said.
Saturday’s event is free and open to the public. It will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and then there will be an afterparty at the Lynchburg Grand Hotel that starts at 7 p.m.
