INDEPENDENCE, Va. – Grayson County claimed back-to-back Region 1C Championships after a convincing 42-15 victory over George Wythe.
The Maroons had trouble slowing down the Blue Devils potent rushing attack with the 1-2 punch of Dazion Thompson and Parker Dowell.
Thompson finished with 240 yards and three touchdowns while Parker tallied 173 yards and three more scores.
The 2024 VHSL Class 1 State Runner-Up Grayson County advances to the state tournament for the second consecutive season.
