Nearly 20 people are facing charges stemming from an investigation of an elder abuse complaint made at a Virginia nursing home back in October.
According to the Colonial Heights Police Department, on Oct. 5, they were alerted about a potential elder abuse case involving a 74-year-old woman who was previously a patient at Colonial Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Authorities said the woman was discharged from the facility and transported to a hospital, where she died a few weeks later due to inadequate care she received at the nursing home.
